Amelia Island Plantation Home Sales

Currently four Amelia Island Plantation homes on the south part of Amelia Island are under contract through the Amelia Island Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Two of the sales are Watson Realty transactions including my newest AIP home listing. The average listing prices are over $1.1 million.

In 2011 the average Amelia Island Plantation MLS home sale price was over $825,000 and only one sale was under $500,000. There is a reason more Amelia Island Plantation homes are listed in the widespread Amelia Island MLS instead of the "exclusive" method mainly targeting hotel guests.

Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort

Updated August 26, 2010: As expected the sale of Amelia Island Plantation to Omni Hotels was approved today.

The Omni Hotel owner is the winning bidder for the Amelia Island Plantation resort. TRT Holdings, owned by billionaire Robert Rowling who owns Omni Hotels as well as Gold's Gym and is according to Forbes on their 50 Wealthiest List in the U.S. with a net worth of $4.4 billion, was the successful bidder for Amelia Island Plantation.

The winning bid was $67 million and the plan is to operate the resort as an Omni Hotel property. According to Omni Hotels & Resorts they plan to take over full ownership and plan to add 125 guest rooms and suites as well as a new 16,000 square foot ballroom to accommodate additional meetings and events. Omni currently operates five golf resorts in the U.S.

TRT Holdings beat out Starwood Capital and Noble Investments to purchase the resort on the south part of Amelia Island.

Two homes sold in Amelia Island Plantation this past week.

 

This home on Marsh Creek sold for $675,000. It was built in 1992 and has 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 baths and over 2,800 square feet of living space. The home overlooks the 18th fairway of the Amelia Island Plantation Oak Marsh golf course.

 

This home on Railroad Vine sold in just over six months and sold for $649,900. The home has 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths and just over 3,000 square feet. The home was built in 1986.

In addition another Amelia Island Plantation home has gone under contract this week. The listing price is $995,000.

This Amelia Island Plantation home on Oak Point Circle in Long Point has sold. The home has 2,726 square feet and 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. This home was listed with Watson Realty and was built in 2000 and overlooks the lake. The sale price was $678,000.
